The rooms at Casa De Alpajares are amazing! Each room has a modern bathroom and some even offer views of the garden and the village. The air conditioning is a great touch, especially during the hot summer days. The flat-screen TV in the mezzanine room was perfect for relaxing after a long day of trekking. the rooms are comfortable and provide everything you need for a pleasant stay.
Personally, I found the rectangular bathtub in the private bathroom a bit uncomfortable. But hey, that's just my opinion and I'm sure others may still enjoy it.

The hotel had a lovely and charming decor, with traditional Portuguese elements that made me feel at home. The general areas were well kept and clean, and I particularly appreciated the comfortable seating areas where I could relax and enjoy the beautiful views of the Douro river. As a senior woman, I was pleased to find that the hotel was easily accessible with ramps and elevators, making it convenient for me to navigate around the property.
I would have liked to see more activities or entertainment specifically catered towards senior guests. Perhaps some live music or organized tours that would provide a bit of excitement and engagement for us.

The hosts and staff were super cool and made our vacation amazing. The views were unreal and perfect for some sick Insta pics. We had a blast hanging at the infinity pool and the breakfast was so bomb. The spa was a total mood too. We're definitely coming back for more lit adventures in Portugal!
The only thing we wished for was a lively bar or club nearby to party all night long. But hey, we made our own fun and had a blast anyway!

The location of this guest house is perfect for those who love a peaceful getaway, as it is nestled in the eastern hills of Portugal with stunning views down to a lake in the Douro river below. The rooms are spacious and luxurious, with double rain showers in the bathrooms. The breakfast is excellent, with homemade goodies like yogurt and jams. There is also a mini-spa with a sauna, steam bath, and jacuzzi, perfect for relaxation.
The only downside is that the restaurant can get a bit cold at times, but overall, it doesn't detract from the wonderful experience at this guest house.

the room we stayed in was not as clean as we would have expected. There were dust and cobwebs in some corners, which made us question the overall cleanliness of the hotel.
